The beloved roguelike card game Slay the Spire is available today on Android, where you can start playing it for only $10.
Taking the best of both worlds from roguelikes and card battling games, Slay the Spire has been a cult hit for the past few years on consoles and PC. Thankfully, mobile players are finally getting their due with the game’s release on Android devices starting today, and here’s where you can find it.
Publisher Humble Bundle has released Slay the Spire on Android, which you can grab on the Google Play Store for $9.99. Developer MegaCrit notes that users will need at least Android 5.1 (Lollipop) or higher to run and play the game on a compatible phone or tablet.
Slay the Spire first released in 2019 on PC, Mac, and Linux and became a runaway indie success. Since then, the game has been brought over to consoles and mobile, with the Android version marking its latest release. A tabletop adaptation of the game was also announced at the beginning of this year, which should fit perfectly with its addicting roguelike gameplay.
For those that haven’t played it, Slay the Spire brings elements of roguelike games and combines them with the strategy of a card game. Using a deck of cards, players work their way up a gigantic tower to defeat monsters and trying to stay alive for as long as they can. For many, Slay the Spire is a perfect “easy to learn, hard to master” type of game that challenges players during every run.
Though I haven’t played it myself yet, Slay the Spire is one of those games that I know many of the DualShockers staff have sunken tons of time into. The Android release is likely to make that even easier, since the game seems absolutely perfect for playing on-the-go and to get a few runs in.
Slay the Spire is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android.
